Welcome to the Muskegon lights web site. The Muskegon South Pierhead and South Breakwater lighthouses were awarded to the Michigan Lighthouse Conservancy in June of 2010 from the Federal Government for preservation. The lighthouses are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The lighthouses need preservation as they have deteriorated over many years. The US Coast Guard still is in charge of the lights at the top and the fog signal. We are in need donations to help save the lights as well as volunteers interested in helping preserve the lights, eventually giving tours and performing routine maintenance on the lights. Preservation of the lights will not be an easy task, so please consider helping financially or physically.
If you are interested in helping preserve the lights with a donation, volunteer time or resources, please contact us through the web site or e-mail us.
